Liberals say the wackiest things. Their broken, stunted worldviews make sense only to them. To the rest of us, their logic is like reality has been run through a blender. Look at what’s going on in the news, and who is speaking. Once you actually start to think about the incongruous statements being made, you’ll wonder if those folks on the news channels might be taking crazy pills. See if you can follow me here.
Let’s just take the debate over gun control. As the state of Colorado puts the screws to the Second Amendment, State rep Joe Salazar made some of the most ridiculous comments I’ve ever heard regarding female college students protecting themselves from rapists; and the man sounded like he was trying to use a Bruce Willis line and failing miserably. Mind you, we know that rape prevention, as important as it is, is only a straw man argument, meant to deflect from the real issue: protection of the Second Amendment as a means to thwart tyranny. Salazar’s remarks, which I don’t have time to quote, coincide with the University of Colorado’s published tips for rape prevention, which include: “Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating,” and, “Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone.” Seriously?!? As if rape isn’t already a violation of a woman’s body, you suggest that she participate in her own degradation as a means of defense? Here’s my suggestion: instead of peeing her pants to ward off an attacker, howzabout the intended victim whips out the jammy, and makes the rapist pee his pants? It would be the least he deserves. And let me remind you that these comments come from liberals and democrats! The same democrats who now think it’s okay to send your sister or your daughter into frontline combat (with those evil assault rifles), turn around and say that that same woman is too stupid, flighty, and hysterical to be trusted with a gun in her own community, or on her own campus. What idiocy! And they claim it’s the conservatives who hate women!
Now let’s switch gears a bit and address Vice President Joe Biden, who advised women this week: “If you want to protect yourself, get a double barreled shotgun. I promise you, as I told my wife, we live in an area that’s wooded and somewhat secluded. I said, “Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out, put [up] that double barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house.” Now, Mr. Biden, I know you’re a super-slick politician, and the No.2 man in the USA, and you got some real shiny teeth, but you’re a moron. Here’s what’s wrong with your idea: 1) it’s illegal to do that in your home state, because; 2) anyone with firearms training will tell you that you don’t just randomly send rounds into the air. You don’t know where they’ll come down; 3) Mrs. Biden has just expended her best means of defense, and exposed herself to any possible armed assailants coming around the back of the house, Far better that she take cover behind locked doors, and the first person to breach that threshold get sent back out with a face full of buckshot.
Now I know what some critics will say: But DCon, if you’re so Christian, why don’t you say something about turning the other cheek? Isn’t life supposed to be sacred, according to the Bible? Yes- each human soul is uniquely created by God, in His image, fearfully and wonderfully made. For that very reason, we should treat each other with holy hands, and those who won’t forfeit their right to live, as God said to Noah, “Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed.” For the same reason, Jesus says, both in Matthew, and in Revelation, “for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword,” meaning those who live a life of violence are likely to suffer from it as well. Conversely, the Bible records the lives of the heroes, judges, warriors, and kings who took the sword in order to protect their people from those who sought their destruction. Far better, in my opinion that arms should be in the hands of good people of strong moral character, than the degenerate criminals who stalk the nighttime streets of our cities, prowl our schoolyards and theaters, or walk the corridors of power in our nation’s capitol.
I’m DCon, and that’s my worldview.
